After I’m done with the bolt body and the sleeve recesses, I move on to the bolt face. I have to reconfigure the bolt, now using a steady-rest and a bolt nose fixture. I’ve already popped out the factory extractor, it’s fine for a factory gun, but not one of my rifles. I’ll go ahead and open up the bolt face until the extractor recess is gone, take a very slight face cut, and then ream my firing pin hole. Once all this is done, I take the bolt out of the lathe in order to install the sleeves, bolt nose bushing, and the firing pin bushing.
