When the stock looks good and I’m happy, it’s time to finish the steel. Everything gets polished, and then Parkerized and eventually painted. I don’t finish the stock and steel together. I’m a purist, I just don’t believe in painting fiberglass and steel together. Also, I don’t like multiple paint layers on steel, it’s just not clean enough for me. However, I will paint different pieces of steel different colors and then blend together by spraying a very light coat of the opposing color. This particular rifle is getting that type of crazy paint job. The components will vary between black and green, and then each will get a light coat of the opposite color. It’s tedious and time consuming, but is very functional and slick. It breaks the rifles outline and gives it a muddled look, great camouflage.
