I single-point the receiver threads first, then I re-cut/true the lug seats, and lastly I true the receiver face. The face is what I’m cutting here, along with the front scope base. Keep in mind, these are very slight cuts, I’m just truing things up. The threads typically need the most work, but the lug seats and receiver face usually only require a couple thousandths. My goal is to get these three surfaces as true as humanly possible, meaning they’re all perpendicular to the bolt bore raceway that I reamed earlier and used to indicate off of. The straighter I can get all the components to line up, the more accurate the rifle should ultimately be.
